The district wants to spend $50 Million to rebuild the 18 year old
Timpanogos Elementary on the old Dixon site. Plus another $25 Million
to renovate the current building for District Offices, CTE, adult education, and CAPS.
That's $75 Million — While:
- District-wide enrollment is declining
- Many schools are already under capacity
- Recent elementary school closure discussions have only been temporarily paused
The Board just requested a $4 million tax increase for programs
and salaries, yet they claim they won't bond for this project. They are already eyeing assets
like Foxfield, risking another shortsighted land deal like the previous Provo High and BYU
Wasatch swap.
